Turkey: KFC, Pizza Hut chains go bankrupt due to boycott

ANKARA, Oct. 02 (YPA) – ‘Ish Gada,’ the operating company for the KFC and Pizza Hut restaurant chains in Turkey, has officially declared bankruptcy due to accumulated debts totaling 4.4 billion Turkish Lira.

The company had previously filed for a bankruptcy settlement procedure (concordat), but the legal proceedings concluded with the official declaration of insolvency. Ish Gada, operates approximately 500 restaurant branches across Turkey.

These developments occur amid ongoing, widespread boycott calls against both international companies due to their support for the Zionist entity, particularly in light of the crimes committed in the Gaza Strip. This has prompted large segments of the Muslim population to boycott the two companies’ products.

Media reports had previously indicated the possibility of transferring some KFC branches to HD Holding, which owns the HD İskender and Pidem brands. However, no agreement was reached regarding the Pizza Hut chain, which has decided to completely withdraw from the Turkish market.

The operations of both brands were severely impacted by the popular boycott, which escalated with the continuation of the Zionist aggression on Gaza and the backing provided by certain international corporations.
