Sanaa FM accuses US of participating in Gaza genocidal war by using its veto power against ceasefire

SANAA, Sept. 20 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based foreign ministry accused on Saturday the United States of being complicit in genocide taking place into Gaza by using its veto power against the draft resolution calling for the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the ministry explained that the United States has used its veto power six times since the start of the Israeli aggression against Gaza, and has used it dozens of times over the past eight decades to block resolutions calling for an end to the occupation or condemning Israeli settlements and its ongoing violations of international law.

“After eighty years since the establishment of the United Nations and ten thousand meetings of the Security Council, it’s time to reform the Council, particularly its membership system and voting mechanism, which can play a role in maintaining international peace and security, instead of remaining a tool in the hands of the United States to protect the Zionist entity at the expense of the blood and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people,” it added.

The ministry’s statement welcomed the findings of the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry, which has confirmed that the genocide war being committed by Israeli entity against the Palestinian people in Gaza, calling on the international community to take action to end these crimes and holding the Israeli war criminals responsible for them accountable.

It also reiterated the Republic of Yemen’s unwavering stance in support of the Palestinian people and its valiant resistance fighters in the face of the barbaric Zionist aggression against Gaza and all of Palestine.
