Sanaa sends letter to UN over assassination of Yemeni PM

SANAA, Sept. 02 (YPA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Sanaa government, has sent an official sent letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council, the member states of the UN, the European Union, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Yemen, regarding the crime of the Zionist entity targeting the Government’s ministers.

In a statement on Monday evening, the Yemeni Foreign Ministry said: “Last Thursday, the Zionist aggression, in a cowardly and treacherous crime, targeted the head and members of the government.” It confirmed that targeting the government is a precedent in the history of international relations and a violation of international laws and agreements.

The statement indicated that the international community’s silence is what encouraged the Zionist entity to carry out this dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region, stressing that the Zionist entity must be forced to comply with international law and end its policy of impunity.

The statement from the Yemeni Foreign Ministry added that the Yemeni position in support of Gaza is consistent with international law and comes after an international failure to stop the genocide in Gaza, reiterating that Yemen’s position will remain steadfast until the aggression is ended and the siege imposed on Gaza is lifted.

The  Ministry concluded its statement by affirming that the government will continue to perform its role within the framework of managing affairs and providing services to the Yemeni people.
