4 Palestinian citizens, including 2 children die due to starvation in Gaza within 24 hours

GAZA, Aug. 28 (YPA) – Palestinian medical sources announced, on Thursday, the deaths of four Palestinian citizens, including two children, as a result of famine and malnutrition, recorded by hospitals in the Gaza Strip, over the past 24 hours.

Palestinian medical sources reported that the total number of victims of famine and malnutrition has risen to 317 martyrs, including 121 children.

They noted that since the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared famine in the Gaza Strip on August 22, 39 deaths have been recorded, including six children.

It is noteworthy that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip continues to worsen, in light of the blockade and shortages of food and medical supplies, whereas the severe famine overlaps with the war of genocide waged by the Israeli enemy since October 7, 2023.

Since March 2, 2025, the Israeli enemy authorities have closed all crossings with the Strip and prevented the entry of most food and medical aid, causing famine to spread within the Strip.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned that malnutrition among children under the age of five had doubled between March and June, as a result of the ongoing blockade.

The World Health Organization confirmed that malnutrition rates in Gaza had reached alarming levels, that the deliberate blockade and delays in aid had caused many lives to be lost, and that nearly one in five children under the age of five in Gaza City suffers from severe malnutrition.
