Senior Hamas member slams Witkoff’s remarks for ceasefire deal in Gaza

GAZA, Aug. 28 (YPA) – Member of the Political Bureau of  Hamas Movement, Izzat Al-Rishq, slammed on Wednesday the statements of the US envoy Steve Witkoff regarding the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza,

In a news statement, Al-Rishq said Witkoff’s claims that the movement was responsible for obstructing the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza, had reflected the truth and the systematic obstruction of the negotiations due to the intransigence of the Zionist enemy.

“Witkoff’s statements have become a mere echo of the voice of Netanyahu and his government of war criminals, blindly repeating the occupation’s narrative, taking away from the facts known to the mediators and the international community,” the Hamas member clarified.

Al-Rishq emphasized that this American position came after the movement clearly announced its approval of the proposal presented by the Egyptian and Qatari mediators ten days ago, and in light of the enemy’s complete disregard for the proposal, its mobilization of forces, its commencement of the destruction of Gaza City, and its perpetration of massacres there.

“These positions can only be understood in the context of the US policy of bias toward the fascist enemy and the cover provided by the US administration to the war criminal Netanyahu to enable him to proceed with the crime of genocide against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip,” he added.
