DAMASCUS, Aug. 28 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces carried out a large-scale military airdrop at a military barracks in Al-Kaswa area in Damascus countryside.
According to Syrian sources, Israeli special forces remained in the operation zone for over two full hours without encountering any clashes with local forces or armed groups affiliated with al-Julani in the area.
The sources added that the airdrop coincided with intensified military movements by Israeli occupation forces in southern Quneitra countryside, along with the deployment of additional helicopters in Syria’s Suwayda province.
The operation took place under heavy aerial activity, as Israeli warplanes and reconnaissance aircraft conducted extensive and unusual flights over Damascus and southern Syrian regions.
Meanwhile, the pace of airstrikes sharply escalated, with 16 separate Israeli air raids reportedly targeting positions in Al-Manae’ Mountain in Damascus countryside.
The strikes mark an unprecedented military escalation and come as part of what Syrian military sources and defense analysts described as a continuing pattern of violations of Syrian sovereignty.
