TAIZ, Aug. 21 (YPA) – A man has died after he was bitten by a venomous snake in the Al-Ghail area of Al-Wazi’iyah District, west of Taiz province, due to the lack of anti-venom injections in all health centers.
A human rights source confirmed that the health centers in the district, located within areas controlled by Emirati-backed armed factions, were completely devoid of anti-serum, which led to the spread of the poison throughout Masir Al-Makzami’s body and the deterioration of his health, which eventually led to his death.
The source pointed out that the incident sparked a wave of anger and resentment among residents, who found themselves denigrated by the UAE-backed local authorities, which were neglecting services, particularly health care, while focusing on strengthening their military presence and securing their interests in the region overlooking the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The tragic incident revealed the depth of the humanitarian and health crisis facing Al Wazi’iyah and other Tihamah districts west of Taiz.
