Pro-UAE officer assassinated by security official’s son in Abyan

ABYAN, Aug. 09 (YPA) – An officer in a security department affiliated with the UAE-backed factions was assassinated in Abyan province, southern Yemen, following a dispute over money.

According to informed sources, Hawi Harsh al-Damani, a lieutenant, was shot dead by Abdullah Omar bin Abdullah al-Damani, the son of the security director of Lodar District, on Thursday evening.

The sources indicated that the incident occurred after a dispute broke out between the two men over sums of money collected during a security campaign to remove violations on the city’s streets.
