UN experts recommend banning arms sales to “Israel”, dismantling GHF

SANAA, Aug. 06 (YPA) – UN experts have recommended that member states impose a comprehensive arms embargo on “Israel” due to its multiple violations of international law.

They also called for the immediate dismantling of the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF),” asserting that it pursues “military and geopolitical objectives” under the guise of distributing aid.

In a report published Tuesday, the experts said that “the Palestinians are paying the price for the international community’s legal, political, and moral failure,” stressing that “withholding or delaying aid is a war crime aimed at starving civilians in the context of a documented and condemned genocide.”

The experts added, “Seeing children dying of hunger in the hands of their parents should shake us out of our complacency.”

The report stated that “the GHF, established by Israel in February 2025 with US support and purportedly to distribute aid in Gaza, is a deeply disturbing example of how humanitarian relief is exploited for military and geopolitical agendas, in grave violation of international law.”

The experts continued, “We are leaving a state accused of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity responsible for feeding a population subjected to genocide, without oversight and with impunity.”

The report called for enabling humanitarian agencies in the United Nations and civil society to resume distributing aid in Gaza.
