Iran warns US strike on nuclear sites would trigger region-wide retaliation

TEHRAN, Aug. 01 (YPA) –  Iran has prepared a comprehensive plan to respond to the United States’ possible madness, a senior security official told Tasnim, referring to American threats to attack Iranian infrastructure.

“We consider the claims of the American media about possible attacks by the US and the (Zionist) regime on Iranian infrastructure as a kind of madness,” the official told Tasnim.

“Because we have prepared a comprehensive plan to respond (to any such attack) that includes (targeting) the vital infrastructure of the Zionist regime and the US energy infrastructure in the region and we are ready for it.”

The official added that the Iranian armed forces, both during the 40-day war and then in recent weeks, have shown both the ability and the will to do so.

The remarks come following repeated threats made by US President Donald Trump to attack Iran’s infrastructure.
