Ghazi Hamad: Hamas presented flexible, serious positions to achieve ceasefire agreement

GAZA, July 27 (YPA) – Hamas movement’s leader and member of the negotiating team, Dr. Ghazi Hamad, confirmed that the movement has always demonstrated positive and flexible positions during the repeated rounds of negotiations to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, stressing Hamas’s seriousness in seeking to end the ongoing aggression.

In press statement, Hamad said: “Hamas has always been a movement that presents positive, flexible, and advanced positions in order to reach a comprehensive ceasefire,” stressing that “there are many testimonies and facts that confirm this, including the testimonies of the mediators themselves who closely followed the movement’s behavior in all previous rounds of negotiations.”

“Hamas has always been serious and interested in reaching an agreement that stops the bloodshed of our people, lifts the siege, and guarantees national rights,” he added, referring to the movement’s commitment to just humanitarian and political demands in light of the suffering experienced by the Palestinians, especially in the Gaza Strip.

These statements come at a time when regional and international efforts are intensifying to push for a ceasefire agreement, amid the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza and growing calls to lift the blockade and ensure the entry of aid.

Meanwhile, Israel continues to stall in providing clear commitments regarding halting the aggression and fully withdrawing from the Strip.

Hamad’s statements confirm what observers have described as “Hamas’ political flexibility,” despite the high human cost incurred by the Strip over the past months and the occupation’s refusal to respond to demands to end the war that has continued for 148 consecutive days.
