ADEN, July 17 (YPA) -Security Belt forces affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Al-Mansoura district of Aden have reportedly abducted a young man, Mohammed Mahmoud Saif Al-Qutaibi, according to local sources.
Al-Qutaibi was last seen four days ago after leaving his home with 11,000 Saudi riyals, reportedly intended for the purchase of a private minibus.
According to the sources, a security belt patrol stopped Al-Qutaibi in Mansoura, after which he disappeared. Two days later, it was revealed that he was being held in a detention facility run by the Mansoura sector of the Security Belt forces.
The sources indicated that promises to release Al-Qutaibi were met with the condition that he relinquish both the bus and the money in his possession—a demand his family strongly rejects.
In a troubling development, the detaining authorities have since denied holding Al-Qutaibi, raising serious concerns over possible enforced disappearance and extortion.
The sources accused Mazen Hazeb, commander of the Security Belt Forces in Mansoura, of orchestrating the abduction.
Hazeb is reportedly known for repeated human rights violations and abuses of power in the district.
