Gunmen kidnap young man in Aden

ADEN, July 13 (YPA) – An armed group in the Khormaksar area of Aden, a city under the Saudi-led coalition’s control in southern Yemen, kidnapped on Sunday a young man named “Imad Mohammed Al-Jaradi.”

A human rights source in Aden stated that the gunmen, who were masked and wearing military uniforms in a civilian “Hyundai” car, abducted Al-Jaradi in the Al-Ahmadi neighborhood in the center of Khormaksar and took him to an unknown destination.

The source explained that the gunmen, believed to be linked to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), ambushed Al-Jaradi near a restaurant as he exited his car to buy bread. They held him at gunpoint, forced him into their vehicle, and searched his car, stealing his belongings before fleeing.

Some citizens who were close to the incident attempted to intervene to rescue Al-Jaradi, but their attempts failed due to direct threats from the gunmen, according to the source.

Assassinations and kidnappings in Aden are a recurring phenomenon, fueled by the presence of multiple armed factions backed by the Saudi-led coalition countries, UAE and Saudi Arabia, exacerbating the region’s security chaos.
