International organization distributes spoiled food in Abyan

ABYAN, July 10 (YPA) – An international organization distributed expired food aid to citizens in Al-Wadea’ district in Abyan governorate, which is under the control of UAE-funded factions.

Human rights sources in the district reported that CARE organization distributed a large quantity of expired flour to citizens over the past two days, sparking widespread anger among the beneficiaries, most of whom are poor families.

The sources confirmed that the flour had expired last June, indicating that the local authorities had allowed the organization to distribute food to citizens under the pretext that it was not harmful to their health.

The sources attributed the distribution of spoiled aid to the lack of local oversight of the organizations’ warehouses, which led to its disposal in an inhumane manner, exploiting the difficult living conditions of the poor.

It is worth noting that the Emirati Red Crescent had distributed a large quantity of rotten meat unfit for human consumption in Ja’ar district last June during Eid al-Adha.
