“Photos of Gaza Children” exhibition held in front of German Parliament

BERLIN, July 10 (YPA) – The international human rights organization Avaaz held an exhibition of “Children’s Photos from Gaza” in front of the Bundestag building in Berlin, Germany, to highlight the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza.

At the event, organized by the non-governmental organization Avaaz under the title “Looking into the Eyes of Gaza’s Children,” 10 large-scale photographs of children from Gaza were placed in the area in front of the German parliament.

The organization also placed signs reading “They are just children” and “Can we look into the eyes of Gaza’s children?”

Some German citizens were seen leaving toys in front of the photographs of Gaza’s children.

Christoph Schutt, Director of Avaaz Germany, said they organized this protest to bring the “humanity and vulnerability” of Gaza’s children to the heart of Berlin.

“We are asking the question here: Can we and the German government look into the eyes of the children of Gaza and continue to supply them (Israel) with weapons? Can we look into their eyes and continue to grant Israel economic privileges, or can we say that too many red lines have been crossed?” Schott added.

He emphasized the need for Germany to do more regarding Gaza, saying, “This is exactly why we are here. To ensure that the children of Gaza are children too. These are children like our children, like the children of Germany, Europe, and Israel. Something has to change. The mindset has to change. The government has to do more than just criticize.”

Schutt pointed out that the German people clearly support the non-supply of weapons to “Israel.”
