Sanaa: Coalition forces’ arrests of travelers complicate prisoners’ file
SANAA, July 09 (YPA) – The head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs in Sanaa, Abdulqader Al-Mortada, cautioned on Wednesday about the potential negative repercussions stemming from the arrests conducted by Saudi-led coalition forces targeting travelers.
He stressed that such practices further complicate the prisoner exchange process and make it more difficult to reach a solution.
In a comment posted on his X account, Al-Mortada explained that the coalition forces are carrying out arbitrary arrests targeting travelers on the roads, including patients, students, pilgrims, merchants, and others forced by the siege to travel via the Marib and Aden roads, noting that this negatively impacts efforts to resolve the prisoner issue.
He pointed out that these measures are not in the best interests of the prisoners or their families, regardless of their affiliation with the party that represents them.
In a previous post, Al-Mortada condemned the arrest of Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Zaidi in Mahra province while he was traveling for treatment, calling for his unconditional release.
