GAZA, June 28 (YPA) – the death toll from hunger among children in Gaza mounted on Saturday to 66, due to the closure of crossings and the tightening of the Israeli blockade, as well as the ban on the entry of milk and nutritional supplements.
In a statement, the Gaza-based Government Media Office condemned the ongoing Israeli blockade, which led to the rise in the number of children killed as a result of severe malnutrition, due to the tightening of the sever blockade by the Zionist enemy.
The statement affirmed this behavior constituted a war crime and a crime against humanity, and revealed the Israeli occupation’s deliberate use of starvation as a weapon to exterminate civilians, especially children, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
It held the Israeli enemy full responsibility for this catastrophe, and the countries supporting and complicit in the crime of genocide, primarily the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
The statement called on the international community, the United Nations, and Arab and Islamic countries to urgently intervene and pressure the enemy to open the crossings immediately and allow food and medical supplies to enter for saving the remaining children.
