Ground vehicle rips off wing of Yemenia plane at Aden airport

ADEN, June 24 (YPA) – A ground services vehicle colliding with the wing of a Yemenia Airways plane on Monday at Aden Airport, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, sparked widespread ridicule on social media platforms.

Several airport workers documented the incident, which involved a passenger stair truck crashing into the plane’s wing, causing a fracture in the upper section and temporarily taking the aircraft out of service.

The incident highlighted the deteriorating service conditions at the airport and the lack of basic safety and security standards, leaving passengers stunned and delaying their flight.

They explained that the gaps in the plane’s wing were repaired and the damage was sealed using electrical tape.

The incident drew mockery on social media, with activists noting that only one aircraft had landed at the airport that day.

They questioned the airport’s capacity to handle increased traffic, asking, “What would happen if 10 planes arrived in a single day?”
