New Colombia ambassador to Palestine takes legal oath

BOGOTA, June 17 (YPA) – The new Colombian ambassador to Palestine, Jorge Ivan Ospina, was sworn in during a ceremony held at the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bogotá Monday evening.

Colombian Foreign Minister Laura Sarabia announced that Ospina had officially begun his diplomatic duties in Palestine.

It is worth noting that Colombia appointed Jorge Ivan Ospina as its first ambassador to Palestine on May 26, 2025, a year after it decided to sever diplomatic relations with the Israeli entity.

At the time, the new ambassador clarified that it had not yet been determined whether he would begin his duties from Ramallah or from “one of the neighboring countries.”
