Palestinian flag adorns Pyramids’ celebrations of winning the African Champions League title

SANAA, June 02 (YPA) – The midfielder Mohannad Lasheen raised the Palestinian flag in solidarity with the Palestinian cause, during the celebrations of Pyramids Club’s winning the CAF Champions League title for the first time in its history,

This came after the team’s 2-1 victory over South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in the second leg of the final yesterday, Sunday, after a 1-1 draw in the first leg. Pyramids clinched the title with a 3-2 aggregate win over the two legs.

Raising the Palestinian flag during the celebrations is a strong message of solidarity from the Egyptian team’s players with the Palestinian people, especially in light of the ongoing war of extermination in the Gaza Strip.

Pyramids thus secured qualification for the 2029 Club World Cup, becoming the second Egyptian club to participate in the global tournament after Al-Ahly.
