Russian sailors on Pearls tanker leave Yemen after U.S. airstrikes

SANAA, May 27 (YPA) – Chargé d’affaires of the Russian Federation to Yemen, Evgeny A.Kudrov, stated that all Russian sailors on board the Pearls oil tanker, which was damaged in a U.S. airstrike on the port of Ras Isa on the Red Sea coast last April, had left Yemen.

According to local sources, about 19 Russian sailors on board the tanker flew from the Yemeni capital Sanaa, to the Jordanian capital, Amman on Sunday.

A.Kudrov indicated that the tanker remained in Yemeni territorial waters.

The Sanaa-based Foreign Minister, Jamal Amer, had previously announced that three Russian sailors were injured as a result of U.S. airstrikes on the port of Ras Isa in Hodeida province on April 25,2025.
