SANAA, May 18 (YPA) – The Arab Summit was held on Saturday in Baghdad did not offer any new solutions or initiatives to support Gaza. Instead, it merely reaffirmed the traditional positions of Arab states, limited to rejection, calls, and demands, without offering visions or proposals to implement previous decisions adopted at the Riyadh Summit regarding breaking the siege on Gaza and ensuring the entry of aid.
Although the Baghdad Summit was held under extremely sensitive circumstances, with Gaza witnessing an unprecedented genocide in history, a number of Arab leaders were absent from the summit.
In an analysis, these summits reflected the level of inaction that Arab states have reached, and their failure to prioritize the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people, who are being exterminated in full view of the world, especially the Arabs, who are their brothers in religion and race, which should have motivated them to rescue their Palestinian brothers and Gaza. However, this did not happen, as if the Arabs had abandoned their religion and Arab identity.
The Baghdad Summit and previous Arab summits had proven that these summits became mere formalities and annual rituals devoid of substance and resolutions. The truth is that the Palestinian people no longer rely on these summits. Therefore, they will continue to rely on themselves to resist the Israeli occupation, as this is the only proven option through which the Palestinian people can achieve their legitimate rights, liberate their land, and restore their state.
