SANAA, May 14 (YPA) – The Faculty Association at the University of Toronto announced that it had voted to divest from Israel.
The proposal stated that divestment from Israel should be carried out in parallel with the university’s current divestment from Russia.
The resolution, which received 52% of the faculty votes, called on the University of Toronto UPP Pension Fund to urgently prepare a timetable for the complete divestment of all direct and indirect investments and acquisitions in entities that support or assist the Israeli occupation or contribute to the manufacture or distribution of weapons, ammunition, or missiles used in the war on Gaza.
