Two US MQ-9 drones shot down in Yemen over 24 hours

SANAA, April 19 (YPA) – Yemen’s air defenses announced on Saturday that a American MQ-9 Reaper drone was shot down over the airspace of Sanaa provinces.

Military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahiya Sarie, said in a statement that the drone was targeted by a locally manufactured surface-to-air missile, while carrying out hostile missions.

“This was the second plane to be targeted in the past 24 hour,” the spokesman added.

He stressed that the continued airstrikes and targeting of civilians, their property, and public and private facilities would not break the will of the Yemeni people, leading to greater steadfastness and unwavering support for the Palestinian people in confronting the genocidal war crime being perpetrated by the Zionist enemy in Gaza.

Sarie reiterated the armed forces’ commitment to the ongoing support operations until the aggression on Gaza is stopped and the siege is lifted.
