Meteorology calls on citizens of flow of floods in mountainous areas

SANAA, April 13 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning warned citizens in areas expected to get rainfall on Sunday of flow of floods in ravines.

In its weather bulletin, the center affirmed that the weather would be partly to mostly cloudy with thunderstorms of varying intensity in the provinces of Lahj, Taiz, Dhalea, Ibb, Dhamar, Rayma, and Sanaa, in additional to light rains on Saada, Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, Bayda and Abyan.

It also warned of reduced horizontal visibility due to rain, low clouds, and fog, as well as strong winds descending from clouds.

The center pointed out that the coastal areas may be partly cloudy with scattered showers, , on parts of the eastern and southern coasts, and Socotra Island.

“Winds will be moderate along all coasts, reaching speeds of 20 knots, according to the center. The desert areas will be clear to partly cloudy and relatively hot, with maximum temperatures ranging between 33 and 37 degrees Celsius.”
