Light earthquake recorded east of capital Sanaa

DHAMAR, Mar. 17 (YPA) – The head of the Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring and Study Center in Dhamar province, Engineer Mohammed Hussein Al-Houthi, reported on Sunday that a minor earthquake was recorded east of the capital, Sanaa.

In a post shared on Facebook, Engineer Al-Houthi stated that the center’s monitoring stations detected the tremor at 3:42 a.m., measuring 2.4 on the Richter scale.

He noted that the epicenter was located in the Al-Hataresh area, approximately 9 km northeast of Sanaa, emphasizing that the quake was minor.

Al-Houthi further stated that monitoring teams continue to work tirelessly around the clock to track any seismic activity in the region and neighboring provinces.
