SANAA, March 11 (YPA) – The International Organization for Migration announced that 15 bodies of migrants from the Horn of Africa were found in separate locations off the coast of Yemen, three days after two boats carrying about 180 migrants, including 57 women, sank.
The organization’s spokeswoman, Monica Chiriac, confirmed in press statements that the bodies were found after the two boats sank last Thursday, while the rest of the passengers are still missing, indicating that some of the bodies are believed to have been swept away by the winds.
Last Thursday, the organization announced the loss of 180 African migrants at sea after two boats capsized in turbulent sea conditions off the coast of Yemen, while two Yemeni crew members were rescued.
She pointed out that the two boats capsized off the coast of Dhu Bab, near Bab al-Mandab, west of Taiz governorate.
