SANAA, March 07 (YPA) – Sweida governorate witnessed,, on Thursday, demonstrations raising slogans attacking the new administration in Syria, accusing it of exclusion, and rejecting its existence in the current form.
The Men of Dignity Movement issued a statement confirming that coordination had taken place between the factions of the Sweida Governorate and the Ministry of Interior with the aim of strengthening the role of public security in the region, explaining that special mechanisms had been sent by the Ministry, so that the factions would organize the work in cooperation with the security agencies to ensure strengthening stability in the governorate.
The demonstrations come after the new administration in Damascus attempted to communicate with a group of Sweida residents outside the framework of the factions and the military council in the city, in order to recruit and arm them to cooperate with it in the governorate.
The Military Council in Sweida condemned the attempts of some groups to bring Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham into the province without coordination with the Military Council, civil society, or religious bodies.
The council confirmed, in a statement, its rejection of the current government in Damascus, stressing that it does not represent the aspirations of the Syrian people, and cannot be accepted as a de facto authority, warning against attempting to impose any external authority on Sweida, which will lead to dire consequences that threaten civil peace, stressing its readiness to respond to any actions that threaten stability in the region.
