GAZA, Mar. 07 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas warned, on Thursday, against the Israeli occupation’s continued targeting of prisoners and physically liquidating their lives, stressing that these practices will not succeed in breaking their will or undermining their hope for imminent freedom.
Hamas indicated in its statement that the policy of slow and deliberate execution practiced by the occupation against Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli prisons shows the extent of the occupation’s brutality and its disregard for human values and all international conventions that guarantee the rights of prisoners of war.
The movement stressed that the martyrdom of prisoner Ali al-Batsh from Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip, inside the occupation’s prisons is the result of the extremist policies of the Israeli government, which target the lives of prisoners through harsh measures that include deliberate medical neglect, physical and psychological torture, solitary confinement, and deprivation of basic rights.
In a related context, Hamas called on the Palestinian masses in various places of their presence, in addition to human rights and humanitarian organizations, to exert more efforts to support and back the prisoners while escalating all forms of pressure in support of their just cause.
