BAGHDAD, Feb. 27 (YPA) – Iraq and Russia signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in the fields of energy, oil, health, maritime transport, communications, and trade on Wednesday.
This came at the conclusion of talks between Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Russian Minister of Energy Sergey Tsivilyov in the capital, Baghdad.
During a joint press conference, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hussein stated, “The relations between our country and Russia are strong in all fields and have a long history.”
He added, “We have signed memorandums of understanding with the Russian side in the fields of maritime transport, health, and oil.
He noted that the largest Russian oil companies have investments in Iraq, explaining that the value of these investments amounts to $19 billion.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the work of Russian oil companies in various regions such as Kut, Basra, and Nasiriyah.
