Pro-coalition government establishes new company to take over Yemen’s most important oil sector

SHABWA, Feb. 17 (YPA) – The  government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition is planning to establish a new oil company to acquire the most important oil fields in Shabwa province, an informed source revealed on Monday.

The source confirmed that the pro-coalition government is in the process of establishing the “Petro Shabwa” company without knowing who is behind it, with the aim of granting it the concession in the “Aqla S2” sector.

The source stated that the company will start its operations in the Aqla field in Armah directorate from the beginning of March 2025.
