Taiz judges demand that pro-coalition government pay their overdue dues

TAIZ, Feb. 12 (YPA) – The Judges Club in Taiz province has called for urgent reforms, including restructuring wages to address rising prices and the collapse of the currency.

The club called, in a statement issued Tuesday, on the Presidential Leadership Council and the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition to take serious steps to ensure the integrity of the judicial administration and improve the living conditions of judges.

The statement emphasized that judges in Taiz face major challenges, such as deteriorating living conditions and unfair representation in judicial jobs and positions, in addition to arbitrary administrative decisions against the club. It stressed the need for comprehensive reforms that ensure transparency and fair representation of the governorate in judicial bodies.

The statement renewed the demand to restore the rights of club leaders, accelerate the rehabilitation of the infrastructure of the courts, pay overdue allowances, and approve promotions to enhance equality among judges.

This comes amid popular protests in Taiz and the southern provinces due to the economic collapse, the interruption of salaries, and the lack of services as a result of the looting of wealth by the pro-coalition government, which is unable to provide fuel for power stations.
