CAIRO, Feb. 12 (YPA) – The Egyptian Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Abdel Meguid Sakr, has called on members of the “Third Field Army” to maintain the highest levels of combat readiness to ensure their ability to perform assigned tasks under any circumstances.
This directive was issued during the minister’s participation on Tuesday in the primary phase of the Third Field Army’s mobilization command center project, as reported by the Egyptian army spokesman, Brigadier General Gharib Abdel Hafez.
The Third Field Army plays a crucial role in securing the Sinai Governorate and safeguarding Egypt’s borders with the Gaza Strip.
This development follows rising concerns over US President Donald Trump’s recent statements about the potential displacement of Gaza residents to Egypt and Jordan. He declared last Monday that Palestinians would not retain the right to return to Gaza under his proposed plan to control the strip.
