Abyan: Angry protests against pro-coalition government over economic collapse

ABYAN, Feb. 09 (YPA) – Dozens of citizens in Zinjibar, Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen, participated in a protest on Saturday, denouncing the ongoing deterioration of economic, living, and service conditions, which they attribute to the government loyal to Saudi-led colaition’s disregard for their suffering and its alignment with the Saudi-led coalition.

Participants held the pro-coalition government and local authorities responsible for the economic collapse in Abyan and other Yemeni governorates.

Protesters chanted slogans expressing their frustration over the dire situation caused by the collapse of the local currency, worsening living conditions, and the lack of basic services.

They demanded improvements in essential services, such as electricity and water, as well as solutions to the suspension of education and the collapse of the healthcare sector.

The protesters highlighted the absence of any governmental efforts to address these escalating crises.
