Rate of racist attacks against Muslims rises in Germany

BERLIN, Feb. 08 (YPA) – The German government has stated, in response to a question from the Left Party in parliament, that 1,554 crimes against Muslims were recorded in Germany in 2024, compared to 572 in 2022 and 1,536 in 2023.

Attacks on “Sinti” and “Roman” communities also increased from 171 in 2023 to 176 in 2024.

It affirmed that these numbers may only be a small part of the reality, as there are likely to be unrecorded crimes.
