About 50 wounded, patients leave Gaza to Egypt to get treatment

GAZA, Fab. 01 (YPA) – About 50 wounded and patients left on Saturday the Gaza Strip to Egypt through the Rafah border crossing.

According to Palestinian sources, most of the patients are children suffering from cancer and heart diseases, accompanied by a delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO).

Egyptian media outlets reported preparations to receive Palestinian patients, and the preparation of buses to move to the crossing through the WHO.

The children arrived with families from different areas of the Gaza Strip at Nasser Medical Complex in the southern Gaza Strip, where they were transported via a large bus to the Rafah crossing.

According to the ceasefire agreement, the crossing would be operated under the supervision of the European Union Security Mission (EUBAM), along with the Palestinian Authority-affiliated employees.

On Friday, the European Union announced its civilian mission to resume to monitor the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt, according to EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas.

The mission would include cooperation with Palestinian border staff and the provision of medical care until the end of the first phase of the ceasefire.
