Yemen’s army reiterates rocket attack on USS Harry Truman

SANAA, Jan. 11 (YPA) – Yemen’s armed forces declared on Saturday it launched a fresh attack against the US aircraft carrier “USS Harry Truman” and a number of its warships in the northern Red Sea region.

Spokesman for the army, Brig. Gen. Yahiya Sarie, said in a televised statement that the American aircraft carrier and a number of its warships were attacked with a number of winged missiles and drones.

He affirmed that the clashes with aircraft carrier and other warships continued nine hours.
“The US aircraft carrier was attacked for the fifth time after being reached the sea,” the spokesman added. “The operation successfully hit its target, forcing the carrier to leave the theater of operations and flee to the far north of the Red Sea.”

Brig. Gen. Sarie re-affirmed the high combat readiness of the armed forces to confront any American or Israeli escalation against Yemen, reiterating the Yemeni military operations will not stop until the aggression is stopped and the siege on the Gaza Strip is lifted.
