ADEN, Dec. 16 (YPA) – Head of the Supreme Council of the Revolutionary Movement, Fouad Rashid, revealed on Sunday a plan that the coalition would carry out in the southern and eastern provinces of Yemen.
Rashid confirmed in a post on the “X” platform that the southern provinces would move towards calling for “autonomy” similar to what happened in Socotra and Hadramout.
Rashid explained that the voices of the community in every provinces, which are under the control of the coalition, would rise to demand self-rule, in light of an international community that encourages to divide Yemen, in reference to “Saudi Arabia and the Emirates” that control those areas.
He added that “the feeling of losing the state and moving towards the unknown would push local communities to search for means and options to maintain their internal cohesion and overcome the state of confusion.”
The pro-Emirati groups in the Socotra Archipelago province had declared a self-governing council, in light of similar movements in Hadramout and a number of coalition-held Yemeni provinces.
