SANAA, Dec. 10 (YPA) – The Solidarity for Palestine group in Växjö, Sweden (SPV), in cooperation with the Palestinian Doctors Association in Europe – Sweden Branch (PalMed), held a solidarity market in the city, with the aim of collecting donations to support the health infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
The event was attended by a number of members of the Palestinian community, Arab and non-Arab communities, in addition to the presence of a number of Swedish solidarity activists, individuals and organizational forces.
The event was opened with the Palestinian national anthem, and then an introductory speech was given about the Palestinian Doctors Association in Europe.
The event aims to collect donations to support the health sector in Gaza, as a quarter of the market will be allocated to purchasing medicines and medical supplies, and sending them to Gaza’s hospitals and medical centers through specialized international organizations, such as the World Health Organization.
The event also included activities for children such as singing segments and competitions, in addition to launching balloons in the colors of the Palestinian flag in the open air.
A short documentary film was shown, narrating the suffering of the people of the Gaza Strip as a result of the ongoing attacks targeting the medical infrastructure, with a focus on the difficult conditions experienced by Palestinians in the Strip.
