Hamas announces its approval of Egyptian proposal regarding administration of Gaza Strip

GAZA, Dec. 05 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” announced, on Thursday, its approval of the Egyptian proposal regarding the formation of a community support committee to manage the Gaza Strip on the day following the ongoing war for the 14th consecutive month.

The movement said in a press statement, according to Palestinian media: “A leadership delegation concluded its meetings in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, where it held an in-depth dialogue with the Fatah movement about forming a committee to administer the Gaza Strip, on the path to implementing the comprehensive agreements that were agreed upon nationally to achieve national unity and completely end the division and its multiple effects.”

Hamas added in its statement: “The delegation informed our approval of the proposal submitted by Egypt regarding the formation of the support committee, through comprehensive national mechanisms.”

Last Sunday, meetings between Palestinian political forces began in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to discuss the future of the Gaza Strip administration and the ceasefire agreement, amid atmosphers described as “positive”.
