GAZA, Dec. 05 (YPA) – Twenty Palestinian citizens were killed, and others were injured on Wednesday night, in an airstrike by Israeli occupation warplanes on Al-Mawasi area, northwest of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, the Palestinian official News Agency WAFA reported, citing local sources.
According to the sources, Israeli aerial bombardment targeted makeshift camps for displaced Palestinians in the so-called Israeli-designated “humanitarian zone” in al-Mawasi, killing at least 20 people and injuring dozens.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that Israeli aircraft targeted gatherings of displaced people and food storage warehouses in Al-Mawasi area, which the Israeli occupation forces refer to as the “humanitarian zone.”
According to eyewitnesses, the bodies of the martyrs were charred and burned.
Meanwhile, emergency and rescue crews retrieved the body of a fatality following Israeli bombardment that targeted the al-Gneinia neighbourhood, east of Rafah.
In the meantime, journalist Wael Abu Zeina was injured in the Israeli bombing of his house in Jabalia in the northern Strip, at a time when a number of people sustained injuries in Israeli artillery shelling that targeted the al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Strip.
Several citizens were also injured due to Israeli artillery shelling on the Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.
