Death toll of journalists rises to 190 due to Israeli aggression on Gaza
GAZA, Nov. 27 (YPA) – The Gaza Strip’s government media office reported that the number of Palestinian journalist martyrs has risen to 190 since the genocidal war began on October 7, 2023.
The office confirmed in a statement quoted by the Palestinian Information Center that “the number of male and female journalist martyrs has risen to 190 since the start of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, after the announcement of the martyrdom of Alaa Fawzi Barhoum, the press editor in several media institutions.”
The government office condemned the Israeli occupation’s targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists,” holding it fully responsible for committing “this heinous crime.”
The office urged the international community and journalistic organizations to deter the occupation, prosecute it in international courts for its crimes, and pressure it to stop genocide and the murder and assassination of Palestinian journalists.
Israeli occupation forces, supported by the US and Europe, continue to commit genocide in the Gaza Strip for 418 consecutive days, launching numerous air strikes and shelling and committing massacres against civilians, despite a catastrophic humanitarian situation due to the siege and displacement of over 95% of the population.
