Unknown drones keep flying over 3 UK airbases

LONDON, Nov. 24 (YPA) – The US Air Force affirmed on Sunday that it had detected a number of unidentified drones over three air bases in Britain.

The British agency “PA Media” said that the incidents occurred between November 20 and 22, during which “small drones” were spotted over the “Lakenheath” and ” Mildenhall” bases in Suffolk, and “Feltwell” in Norfolk, which are affiliated with the British Royal Air Forces.

The US Air Force, which uses the bases, said it was unclear at this point whether the drones represented a hostile threat, declining to comment on whether defensive mechanisms were used, noting that it reserved the “right to protect” facilities.

“We take the threats seriously and maintain robust measures at defence sites,” a spokesman for the British Ministry of Defence, which owns the bases, told the BBC.

“We can confirm that small unmanned aerial systems were observed in the vicinity of RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall and RAF Feltwell between November 20 and 22,” a U.S. Air Forces in Europe spokesman said.
