Hadramout’s second military region forces hold protest over unpaid entitlements

MUKALLA, Sept. 28 (YPA) – Members of the Saudi-backed Second Military Region held on Monday an angry protest in the heart of Mukalla, Hadramout province, denouncing deprivation policies imposed on them by the Saudi forces’ leadership and its allied authorities in the province.

During the rally, the protesters gathered outside the headquarters of the Saudi-backed authorities, carrying banners and chanting slogans demanding that their entitlements and incentives be paid in Saudi riyals, in line with other factions.

They also condemned what they described as systematic disregard for their dire living conditions.

Participants said they had received meager payments of no more than 60,000 Yemeni riyals for years amid the war in Yemen, holding the leadership of Saudi forces in Hadramout and Riyadh-aligned officials fully responsible for their continued marginalization.

The protesters stressed the need for their financial conditions to be addressed urgently and immediately, and for a policy of disregard for their livelihoods to end.

They warned that their protest movement would escalate until their demands are met.
