MARIB, Nov. 12 (YPA) – About 50 Yemenis survived a horrific fire, on Tuesday, while returning from Saudi Arabia on the international road linking the governorates of Marib and Hadramout, eastern Yemen.
Media sources reported that a fire engulfed a public transport bus in the Safer area after it broke out in the bus’s engine due to an electrical short circuit, without any human casualties.
The sources attributed the repeated burning of large buses belonging to Saudi transport companies to their replacement, upon the arrival of their new buses at the Al-Wadiah port, with worn-out buses for transport travelers towards Yemeni territory.
The sources pointed out that the buses being replaced have reached the end of their service life and lack maintenance and security measures.
This comes after two buses belonging to two Saudi companies were burned last month in Abyan governorate for the same reasons.
