HADRAMOUT, June 26 (YPA) – A massive fire broke out Thursday afternoon in the Shibam district of Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, destroying a palm farm and a large number of beehives.
A local source reported that an unknown fire destroyed approximately 30 palm trees and around 150 beehives on the farm of Sheikh Rashid Abdullah Amer bin Kada in Shibam.
The source also indicated that the material damage resulting from the fire was estimated at more than 20 million riyals, without revealing the cause of the fire.
It is worth noting that similar fires recur from time to time in various areas of Hadramout, often destroying hundreds of palm trees. These fires are usually attributed to high temperatures.
