ROME, Oct. 20 (YPA) – A number of demonstrators clashed with the Italian police during pro-Gaza demonstrations in the Italian city of Naples, demanding an end to the war in Gaza and Lebanon and a ceasefire.

This came in conjunction with the meeting of the G7 defense ministers, according to the Italian newspaper El Giornale.

The newspaper pointed out those officials at the G7 defense ministers’ meeting urged an end to the uncontrollable escalation and violence in the Middle East.

Press reports reported that groups of demonstrators in support of the Palestinian people and ending the war in Gaza and Lebanon clashed yesterday, Saturday, with the Italian police in the southern city of Naples, where the protest gathered about 500 people amid a large police force.

The police accusations began after demonstrators rushed towards riot police officers, carrying a large cardboard banner demanding an end to the Israeli attack on Gaza and the Middle East.
