Pro-Palestine rallies held in US, Canada, demanding end to Israeli aggression against Gaza

WORLD, Oct. 07 (YPA) -Pro-Palestine mass rallies took place on Saturday  across the United States and in Toronto, Canada, protesting the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza, marking one year since the start of the Israeli ‘genocide’ against the Palestinian people.

Massive marches spread across American cities simultaneously as part of the protests against the continued Israeli assault on the Palestinian people since last November, which has resulted in over 41,000 martyrs, 95,000 injured, and the near-total destruction of the Gaza Strip.

Human rights, humanitarian, and community organizations supporting the Palestinian people participated in the marches, which occurred in Manhattan, New York, Rochester in the same state, Chicago in Illinois, Seattle in Washington, Portland in Oregon, Los Angeles in California, and Dallas in Texas.

One of the most notable demonstrations was held in front of the White House in Washington, D.C., where activists urged the Biden administration and Vice President Kamala Harris to impose an arms embargo on ‘Israel’ to halt the genocide being committed against innocents.

In a related context, activists during a protest in Raleigh, North Carolina, which was recently affected by Hurricane “Helene”, demanded that funds be redirected to aid the victims in the affected areas instead of supporting ‘Israel’, which is committing massacres against Palestinians.

Additionally, Toronto witnessed a demonstration, where hundreds from the Palestinian and Arab communities and their allies, commemorate  the first anniversary of the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip, and condemning the crimes of the occupation in the West Bank and Lebanon.

The protest, which started from one of the most vibrant squares in Toronto, called on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to stop arming ‘Israel’ and to recognize the Palestinian state.

Speakers stated that a year after the genocide, the world stands powerless to hold the Israeli entity accountable for its crimes, and instead continues to support it in its war and supply it with weapons under the pretext of the right to self-defense.
