ICC prosecutor requests urgent arrest warrants of Netanyahu and Gallant

THE HAGUE, Aug. 24 (YPA) – The International Criminal Court (ICC)’s prosecutor, Karim Khan, asked the judges on Friday to urgently rule on the arrest warrants for the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation entity, “Benjamin Netanyahu,” and his Minister of War, “Yoav Gallant.”

In a court filing, Karim Khan urged judges considering arrest warrants against Israeli officials to make their decision quickly and without delay.

“Any unjustified delay in these proceedings adversely affects the rights of victims,” Khan said in his request.

He stressed that the court has jurisdiction over Israelis who commit atrocities in the Palestinian territories, and asked the court’s judges to reject appeals filed by dozens of governments and other parties.

“It is well established in law that the court has jurisdiction in this situation,” Khan said in his application, rejecting legal arguments based on provisions in the Oslo Accords and Israel’s assertions that it is investigating allegations of war crimes.”

On May 20, Khan asked the ICC to issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant.
