Lahj tribes give STC two days to release kidnapped officials

LAHJ, Aug. 10 (YPA) – Tribes of Lahj province, south of Yemen step up its moves against the UAE-affiliated Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s factions, giving them two days to release one of the kidnapped officials from its prisons unconditionally.

In a statement, Al-Bashiri tribe, one of the Radfan tribes in the province, condemned the barbaric methods that the STC used to kidnap Sheikh Haitham Al-Bashiri, a member of the local council in Habil Jabr area of Radfan district, from his home in Habilin area, due to his criticism of the suppression of the Ashal million-man march in the center of Aden.

The statement accused, Mukhtar Al-Nubi, the leader of STC’s factions, of being behind the kidnapping of Sheikh Al-Bashiri, considering the methods of kidnapping, oppression, and assault on people’s property unacceptable in the southern street.

It condemned the unacceptable violations and behavior that the STC’s practicing, calling for those behind Al-Bashiri’s kidnapping to be held accountable, amid warnings of its repercussions.

Last week, the STC’s members kidnapped sheikh Al-Bashiri from his home in Al-Habileen area and took him to one of its secret prisons.

The southern street is witnessing an unprecedented state of anger against the STC, demanding the disclosure of hundreds of kidnapped and forcibly disappeared persons, including Major Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani has been kidnapped since mid-June.
